From the A38:
Leave at the junction signposted Ermington and continue on through Modbury. After joining the A379 you will come to Harraton Cross.

From Totnes:
Follow the A381 (Dartmouth, then Kingsbridge) and the A379 (Plymouth) to Harraton Cross.

At Harraton Cross, follow the signs to Bigbury on Sea. When you reach the hamlet of St Anne's Chapel (approximately two miles from the turning) please call the hotel on 01548 810 514 to let them know that you are 10 minutes away. If you need access to the hotel's car park, please ask for the current security code. Mobile coverage can be patchy in this part of the world and this is one the last places you are guaranteed to get a reception.

Continue through Bigbury, past the golf course on your left and down the hill into Bigbury-on-Sea. You will pass the public car park entrance on your left and then a red telephone box. Immediately after the phone box turn sharp left down a small slip road. A compound security gate will be in front of you with a key pad.

Enter the code given to you by the hotel and park you car in the covered garage area inside the compound to your right. Hang the pink tag included with your invitation from your mirror. A driver from the hotel will meet you in the car park on arrival and take you to the island.

Please note that guests are allocated one parking space per room. If you need a second space please let us know in advance.

The nearest train station is Totnes (direct services from London Paddington every hour, Reading and Bristol Temple Meads with First Great Western). Totnes is approximately 14 miles away from Burgh Island. You will need to take a taxi from the station to Bigbury-on-Sea, in which case please follow the instructions above.
